S03E00 - All The Theme Songs - Califorgilicious Season 3 SPECIAL

Every great show needs a theme song. Something iconic. Something timeless. Something that says: this is it, you’ve arrived, buckle up. So naturally, I spent way too long on the quest.

I went decade by decade, like a DJ lost in his own desert transmission. The ’60s? Doo-wop sweetness so sticky you could pour it over pancakes. The ’70s? Proto-disco grooves ready to roller-rink me straight into oblivion. The ’80s gave me cocky divas declaring “study me” (a solid life motto, honestly), and the ’90s promised nostalgia but mostly reminded me of high-school cafeteria radios.

Each song was a contender. Each song repeated Califorgilicious until it became less of a word and more of a cosmic mantra. Somewhere between the synthwave, the disco balls, and the unexpected Satanic black metal outro (AI is a strange beast), I thought: this is the one. Well, it wasn’t.

And here’s the punchline - there will be no single theme song for Season 3. After thirty imaginary years of musical evolution, after a playlist that could fill a jukebox in a Bakersfield diner, I’ve decided the perfect theme song is… none at all.

Instead, each episode will carry its own track. A soundtrack in motion. By the end of the season, those songs will come together as the Season 3 OST - not a jingle, but a pilgrimage in sound.

So yes, I made a radio special showcasing all the rejects. Not because I failed, but because the road itself - through doo-wop, disco, divas, and delirium - was the point all along.

Season 3 doesn’t need one anthem. It’s getting more. And that’s not disappointment. That’s abundance.
